· The Quest Hubs
WALK IN. CHANGE EVERYTHING.
Real Places. Real Kindness. Real Impact.
In a classic RPG, you walk into a tavern to pick up quests. In Some Neat Place, you walk into Oribello's Bar & Kitchen. Or your neighborhood coffee shop. Or the yoga studio down the street. Any business in your city can become an Anchor — a real-world quest hub where kindness is embedded into the experience of showing up.
WHAT IS AN ANCHOR?
An Anchor is a local business that has opted into the Some Neat Place ecosystem. When a business becomes an Anchor, it gets:
- An AR Community Board — a digital pinboard visible through the app, showing active kindness challenges, neighborhood stories, and quest completions.
- A custom Owner Story — generated from a 2-minute voice memo, so the people walking into your business know why you built it.
- Daily kindness challenges specific to your space and the communities you serve.
- Real-time data on how kindness activity drives dwell time, return visits, and community connection.
HOW IT WORKS FOR PLAYERS
When you walk near an Anchor, a notification pulses: “Active Anchor nearby — 3 kindness challenges available.” Open the app. See the board. Pick a challenge. Complete it in real life. Tap confirm. Earn XP and light up the neighborhood.
Anchor quests are tied to specific Prisms — so when you buy a stranger's appetizer at a restaurant Anchor, you're earning Generosity XP. When you ask a business owner to share their story, you're earning Empathy XP. Every interaction has meaning in the game and in real life.
THE BUSINESS MODEL
Anchors pay nothing upfront. There are no subscriptions, no setup fees, no monthly minimums. Anchors pay only when kindness is completed — a micro-transaction model that aligns the platform's success with the business's success.
Early data from similar community engagement programs shows that meaningful social connection drives 40–60% higher return visit rates than loyalty programs alone. Anchors don't just join a kindness network — they become the destination.
EXAMPLE: ORIBELLO'S BAR & KITCHEN
Active Anchor · North Campus, Austin
Oribello's Bar & Kitchen
Where Filipino heritage meets Austin heart.
DJ and Darrel Oribello opened this kitchen to share their Filipino heritage with Austin. When you walk in, the app shows you their story, their daily challenges, and how many kindness quests have been completed here this month.
